Equipments in all Pro Physiotherapy Clinics.

We use the hybrid equipment to treat our patients in all Pro Physiotherapy Clinics.

Ultrasound is commonly used by certified physiotherapist at all Pro Physiotherapy clinics. With appropriate parameter adjustment, ultrasound can be applied to heat deeper tissues including muscles, tendons, ligaments, joint capsules, and scar tissue.
Unlike the superficial heating modalities, ultrasound energy penetrates through the skin and subcutaneous fat. Thus, ultrasound can be considered a deep-heating modality. We, at Pro Physiotherapy clinics use latest technologically advanced ultrasound therapy machines.

Phonophoresis is a way to inject a medicated ointment mainly analgesic Or anti inflammatory drugs by using ultrasonic therapy into the deep layers of the skin. Ultrasound with a frequency of 3 MHz penetrates to a depth of 1-2 cm, and with a frequency of 1.1 MHz – to a depth of 4-6 cm.
Phonophoresis: contraindications
Phonophoresis has contraindications, like any other cosmetic or medical procedure. So that ultrasound does not harm you, pay attention to the prohibitions.
            Phonophoresis, contraindications:
skin diseases
SARS – a temporary ban on exposure to phonophoresis,
Any tumors
paralysis of the facial nerve,
Circulatory problems
Diseases of internal organs,
Second half of pregnancy,
Disorders in the endocrine system.
It is better to play it safe and ask your physiotherapist for permission if you do not see some serious illness that you have on the list.

We use highly advanced Interferential Therapy IFT which is a low frequency current treatment that utilizes two medium frequency currents. These currents ‘interfere’ with each another to create a beat frequency that the body identifies as a low frequency energy source, which is usually 1–250Hz. The medium frequency currents interchange at 1000–100 000Hz. The low frequency causes high skin resistance and the medium frequency causes low skin resistance. The interferential equipment have one frequency fixed at 4000 Hz (generated by one pair of electrodes) and the other varies between 4000 Hz and 4200 Hz (second pair of electrodes). On selecting the variable frequency, a beat frequency between 0 and 200 Hz can be generated.
The various indications for Interferential Therapy are :
Pain relief–Pain of sympathetic origin such as causalgia, neuralgia, pain from herpes zoster, amputation–stump complications and recent injuries
Swelling–Interferential aids absorption of exudates particularly for Haematoma
Stress incontinence–The muscle stimulating frequencies aid weak pelvic floor muscles
Back pain or disc lesions–Interferential therapy is useful for relief of acute back pain where the pain is localized to the back or referred down a lower limb
Sudeck’s atrophy–This responds to interferential when other modalities have failed but treatment may need to be prolonged
Ligamentous and muscle injuries–Interferential can be given in acute or chronic conditions to relieve pain, promote healing and restore function. Treatment can be given with strapping in place.

Excessive sweating (otherwise known as hyperhidrosis) is a problem that people all around the world suffer from. It can be uncomfortable and not to mention embarrassing, so you are going to want to look for an effective solution.
Iontophoresis is the term used to describe the process of treating excessive sweating with electric current delivered by an iontophoresis machine.

Pro Physiotherapy uses “Tap Water Iontophoresis” for effective non-surgical treatment of hyperhidrosis, which is excessive sweating of the hands and feet.
Studies have show that iontophoresis machines positively treat 90% to 100% of cases where patients experience palmar and plantar hyperhidrosis excessive sweating of the hands or feet.

Electronic Pain Killer T.E.N.S. (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) is a very unique pain management gadget that also works to relax the muscle just like as a muscle relaxant drug but in natural way. The TENS therapy is uses mild electrical impulses for to reduce pain or manage pain instead of conventional drugs. The therapy is approved by FDA. It is well established as a safe and reliable, effective pain management system which has been used for long time in India, USA, Europe and other countries.

TENS Therapy gently stimulates nerves and blocks pain signals which comes through the small diameter nerves fibers before they can be received by the brain. TENS Therapy is generally used to relieve neck pain, back pain, but many types and causes of pain may gets benefit from it, including arthritis. Many scientific researches & literature indicate that electronic pain reliever gadget, T.E.N.S. is an effective pain relieving therapy for diabetic neuropathy and other painful neuropathies.

Gate Control Theory in 1065 created a great popularity of TENS therapy.
TENS has 50-80% efficacy rate
TENS stimulates afferent sensory fibers to elicit production of neurohumneral substances such as endorphins, enkephalins and serotonin ( PAG area of brain)(i.e. gate theory)
Paresthesia is created without motor response
A Beta fibers are stimulated to enkephlin interneuron (pure gate theory)
Creates the fastest relief of all techniques

Hydrocollators are used in physical therapy hospitals, clinics. Each stainless steel unit is designed to hold hot packs in water so they maintain the appropriate temperature for easing pain and reducing inflammation.

Hot packs are essential for physical therapy. Most hydrocollators are used in offices where physical therapy is delivered on a daily basis or where sports injuries are treated. Medical offices that deal with a variety of physical therapy procedures will need numerous hydrocollators of different sizes.

There are two main types of hydrocollators: small tabletop units and large units that sit on the floor. Tabletop units look like silver boxes with no decorations and floor models can look sort of like small refrigerator.

The job of any hydrocollator is the same: to heat hot packs so they are ready for immediate application to a patient’s skin. Hot packs used inside these hydrocollators are designed to be heated in water to a very specific temperature. They cannot be heated in the microwave or by any other means. It is also very convenient for therapists to have hot packs appropriately heated when they need to deliver the hot-pack treatment.

important hydrocollators are to virtually any medical facility that treats sports injuries or that delivers physical therapy for patients who are in pain. That’s why we make sure to stock a variety of durable, high-quality hydrocollators. We carry both tabletop and floor models so every customer finds just what they need.

All hydrocollators that we sell are professional quality and are suitable for sitting on countertops inside exam rooms or for centralized locations for full office accessibility. All hydrocollators come equipped with at least a few standard sized hot packs. The larger units may come with oversized packs for the neck and other areas of the body.

Insulated wrappers are now available as well. An insulated wrapper is designed for units that are not self-insulated. These wrappers are very easy to put over the unit. They not only make it safer for patients and staff so they do not touch the hot unit, but it helps save on the energy bill as more heat is held inside the unit. Wrappers are especially recommended for the countertop units.

We also stock a variety of replacement parts so you can keep the hydrocollators in your office functional for many years. Most replacement parts are easy to change yourself, which eliminates the need to pay someone to come and repair your unit. If you need a part for specific models of hydrocollators that we don’t have online, just give us a call and chances are we can find what you need.

A. IRR Therapy :
Infrared irradiation (IRR) is electromagnetic energy radiation invisible to the human, having a wavelength between 760nm to 1mm.

People have been using light therapy for over 40 years to deliver many different therapeutic benefits to the living tissues and organisms.  Infrared light therapy has proven to show positive changes in the cellular level.  The light radiation needs to be absorbed in order for to produce the biological response.

Infrared light therapy has been shown to increase you overall circulation by increasing the formation of the new capillaries.  These capillaries are in fact additional blood vessels that work to replace old damaged ones.  These newly formed capillaries helps speed up the healing cycle by providing more oxygen and nutrients that are needed for healing and recovery.

Another benefit that light therapy can do is to help stimulate the production of different collagen.  Collagen is plays an important role in repairing and replacing damaged tissues.  This essential ingredient in repairs is one of the most common proteins that is found in the body.  If you increased the production of this protein, it will decrease the chance of scar tissue occurring at this site.

Using infrared light therapy can also help to promote the release of adenosine triphosphate (ATP).  ATP is very important because it helps carry energy to all the different cells.  Increasing the release of ATP will help your body accept more nutrients and eliminate wastes faster.  The food you eat turns into ATP before it is utilized by the different cells for energy.  ATP is very important because it can help drive the reaction that because of the energy that is produced.

This therapy can also work to reduce pain.  The different photons of infrared energy that enters your body are negative ions.  This process requires that your body work to send positive ions, among others, to flow to the area that is being treated.  These ions can work to help reduce the pain in your body because they regulate nerves.
There are many different benefits that infrared heat therapy offers.  People who are looking for something that can help promote blood circulation and healing should consider this therapy.  This therapy can help promote your blood circulation without putting any stress on your heart.  It will also work to increase your oxygen levels and white blood cells in your blood.  This helps to promote an overall healthier body that has a stronger immune system and better cardiovascular health.

People who have injured ligaments or other injuries should consider using this therapy.  Light therapy is very effective in helping to work against soft tissue injuries such as pulls, sprains and tears.

Risk associated with IRR
Thermal injury.
Pregnant women,
Heart diseases.

Two types of Infrared lamp but we use luminous & non luminous.
For chronic conditions, tissue heating.
For acute, recent injury, sedative effect non luminous.

Luminous IRR lamps power between 250-1500W

Emits wavelengths of between 780nm -1500nm, peak intensity at 1000nm.

Penetration level:  the dermis and subcutaneous tissue , depth 5-10mm.

The luminous generator is sometimes called radiant heat.
Why we use and effects of IRR therapy?
To reduce pain.
To reduce muscle spasm
To reduce joint stiffness
To reduce swelling and edema.
Skin inflammation (psoriatic arthritis with psoriasis)
To reduce pressure ulcers.

Dangers or risk of IRR :
Burn or tissue damage
Electric shock

Contraindication to IRR Treatment
Defective or lack of cutaneous thermal sensation.
Issue with arterial blood supply.
Advanced cardiovascular disease.
Acute skin disease, e.g. dermatitis, eczema.
Skin infections.

Preparation of Patient for IRR treatment is also important like
patient should be comfortable position.
Avoid unnecessary movement of the patient.
Only the treatment area should be exposed to radiation, rest of the surrounding body parts should be covered.
Protect the eyes of the patient with a dark sunglasses to avoid the radiation.
Sensation of the patient’s skin should be intact so test it before the treatment.
Remove all metal objects like safety pins, rings, etc.

At Pro Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation we specialize in laser therapy treatment also referred to as cold laser therapy or low level laser therapy (LLLT). It has been clinically proven to be an effective treatment for a broad range of conditions including musculoskeletal injuries, arthritis, degenerative disc disease, soft tissue damage, some autoimmune disorders, and sports injuries.

Cold laser therapy is a non-toxic, non-invasive treatment for pain.
The technology utilizes superluminous and laser diodes to irradiate traumatized Or diseased tissue with photons. These particles of energy are selectively absorbed by the intracellular molecules & cell membrane, resulting in the initiation of a cascade of complex physiological reactions, which leads to the improvement & restoration of normal cell structure and function.

The process is healing and therefore results in the elimination or decrease of symptoms including pain. In addition, it improves the body’s immune system response and facilitates natural healing.

The technology is completely safe and has no adverse side effects, moreover is highly effective in the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, arthritis, sports injuries, wound healing and a wide range of dermatological conditions.

Some Physiological Effects

Increased production and release of –
– Endorphins – natural analgesics
– Cortisol – precursor of cortisone
– Growth hormone – which is instrumental in tissue repair
– ATP – improves and regulates cellular metabolism
In addition, there is –
– Increased protein synthesis – collagen, DNA, fibroblasts
– Venous and lymphatic flow facilitation
– Increased angiogenesis – elevation of oxygen saturation

In physiotherapy cold therapy which is also called cryotherapy always plays a great rules.
It’s playing a great rule in case of pain reducing to injury, arthritis management etc.

How does it work?

It works by reducing blood flow by a mechanism called vasoconstriction to a particular area. The vaso constriction causing to reduce blood flow to the target area, which can significantly reduce inflammation and swelling. Once inflammation and swelling reduces automatically pain also reduce especially around a joint or a tendon. It can temporarily decrease nerve activity, which can also relieve pain.

Types of cold therapy we use in our Pro Physiotherapy Clinics :

Frozen gel pack or ice pack.

Ice massage.

ice or coolant spray.

We at Pro Physiotherapy used some other types of cold therapy:

A. Cryostretching:cold to reduce muscle spasms during stretching.

B. Cryokinetics: combines cold treatment and active exercise in ligament sprains.

Contraindications of cold therapy:

1. People with sensory disorders like diabetes where chances of nerve damage or sensitivity is less.
2. Stiff muscles
3. Vascular problems

Paraffin bath
Provides soothing moist heat to warm tissue, joints and skin.
Ideal for treatment of pain from arthritis, sprains, strains, and joint stiffness.
Stimulates blood flow to aid in healing.

Paraffin Bath – Ease Away Pain & Stiffness

Treatments with warm paraffin have become used in hospitals and medical facilities physiotherapy department for years.
You can take advantage of this therapy right in your own home. The heat from warm paraffin soaks through the skin and instantly relieves pain, joint inflammation, stiffness, and other discomforts that come from arthritis, injuries, and many other medical conditions including to reduce post surgery stiffness.

We at Pro Physiotherapy wanted to help people in pain so they can live a more active, fulfilling life.

Paraffin Bath comes with everything need to effectively treat pain or joint stiffness and inflammation. We can use paraffin wax bath for physiotherapy in clinic also in your home.

During each therapy session, the hands, arms or feet must be dipped into the heated paraffin. The paraffin coats the skin, and the heat relieves the pain. This is a very relaxing process, but it is made even more enjoyable by the fresh scent ( added scent paraffin) that comes from the paraffin, which lingers on the skin after therapy.

Unscented paraffin is also available for those who are allergic or do not enjoy fragrances.

It has an automatic temperature control feature to ensure that the paraffin wax beads are melted efficiently. The heat is held constant, so there is no chance of it suddenly becoming too hot and burning the skin.

Whirlpool – Hydrotherapy

The whirlpool is a large tub that’s crammed with water. The part that’s to be treated is then placed within the tub of water, and alittle motor agitates the water. While within the water, you’ll move your part to assist improve the motion round the injured area.
Soon we will install in our centre and update you.
